Each apartment has its own kitchen and en-suite bathroom or shower room. The block has a residents lounge with communal kitchen, laundry and guest bedroom.
Accommodation is arranged across three floors with the main facilities on the middle floor. Access to all floors is via a passenger lift or stairs. Podsbrook House is set in its own grounds with shared garden and patio area and it has a residents private car park with some carports. There is also a basement facility for storing and charging mobility scooters. A computer with internet access for shared use is located in the residents lounge.
The resident operations manager is on duty five days a week (Monday to Friday) and is available to ensure the residents wellbeing. In addition, emergency alarms are installed in every apartment and there is a 24-hour telephone support service. The Association also has a part-time support officer who can assist with matters such as housing benefit claims if needed.
The residents of Podsbrook House enjoy a wide variety of regular social events and outings, organised by residents, the house manager or the support officer.
The local area
Podsbrook House is located a short walk from both the town centre and railway station.
Witham has a compact town centre so supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes, doctors, dentists, chemists, library, churches and bus stops are all within easy reach. The attractive Riverside Walk is just across the road.
In January 2021 rents for studio flats begin at around £487.49 per calendar month inclusive of heating, hot water, emergency careline and service charges.
Rents for one-bedroom flats are around £542.71 per calendar month and two-bedroom flats £593.96 per calendar month.
Residents make arrangements to pay their own council tax and other utilities such as electricity, water, telephone etc.
